EASA Learning Assurance (video)

EASA   held a webinar on Rotorcraft and VTOL on Dec 9th, 2020. It was a replacement virtual event for The EASA Rotorcraft and VTOL Symposium 2020. The event featured an introduction by the EASA Certification Director and the Chairman of the European Helicopter Association (EHA) and a live Q&A session.

And as the replacement to the symposium agenda, EASA published a series of videos with their experts' technical presentations. One of the topics is EASA's AI roadmap and the challenges of the certification of machine learning. The speakers on the video covering this topic are Guillaume SoudainXavier Henriquel and Alain Leroy.

EASA published its Artificial Intelligence Roadmap at the beginning of 2020, with a view to enabling the approval of AI-based solutions and with an initial focus on machine learning techniques. Guillaume Soudain, Software Senior Expert and AI project leader at EASA, presents the perspectives of this roadmap.

And from 5:00, he explains one of the Trustworthy AI building blocks – Learning Assurance. This building block answers the key question: "How do we ensure that a machine learning application will behave as intended?" The speaker presents the W-shaped Learning Assurance Framework  developed under the Innovative Partnership Contract between EASA and Daedalean and gives us credits.
